Troop 1024

Our March campout is a backpacking trip to Hocking Hills, OH on March 19-21. See the attachments link below for the sign-up form and information sheet.

Troop 1024 has entered the lottery for a 2011 Sea Base spot. Sea Base is a high adventure location in the Florida keys. There are several adventures to choose from (See Here). Please let Mrs. Barnhart know if you are interested and which adventures you would prefer. Space is limited!

Summer 2009 is just around the corner and it is hard to start thinking about summer 2010. However, that is just what you must do if you want to go to Philmont in 2010. Troop 1024 can bring 9 scouts and 3 adults. You must be at least 13 or have completed 8th grade by 2010 to be eligible. The specific dates are still in the works, but plan on the adventure occurring for two weeks in June or July.

Philmont is a 12 day backpacking adventure in Northern New Mexico. It is an adventure you will not want to miss. A trek from troop 1024 went in 2008 and had an amazing time hiking over 100 miles. The trek consisted of the Doggarts, Hausmans, Kendalls, and Danny Mooney. You can talk to anybody that went about their experience (forum perhaps). School is winding down and summer is almost here. We had our last scout meeting of this season, but we still have some important events to keep in mind.

Whitewater Rafting June 14-16

Summer camp is coming start on July 26 and there is a meeting on July 20

When we come back in the fall, we only have a few meetings before the Silversides Campout (sept 25-27). If you want to go, you must signup by June 26.

Congrats to our new SPL, Evan Daykin, and our new ASPL, Eli Jensen. Evan and Eli will be serving our troop for the next 6 months.

The date of the crossover campout has been changed to May 1-3. It is still being held at Brighton Recreation Area. We want as many scouts in attendance as possible to welcome our new scouts.
